Syria Flexing Muscles?

Perhaps this is a gesture to ensure that the US and Israel recognize that Syria is still a force with which to reckon. I can understand if Pres. Assad feels the need to do such a thing after the widespread rejection by Lebanon. Assad just can't stand not being viewed as a bonafide terrorist bully.
